I was charged in the wrong currency. What should I do?

Updated over a week ago

This may happen when a merchant applies Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC), converting the charge to USD at their own (usually unfavorable) rate instead of billing in the local currency.

In the future, always select “pay in local currency” when offered a choice at the terminal. If you believe the charge is incorrect, contact the merchant first, then file a dispute if unresolved.
