When the offer begins
The Welcome Cashback Offer begins when your Girin Card status changes to Activated. The offer remains active for 30 consecutive days.
The first $1,000 in eligible purchases is measured cumulatively across the full 30-day offer period. The Welcome Offer spending allowance does not reset when a new calendar month begins.
Virtual Card Welcome Cashback
Virtual Card users earn 2% cashback on the first $1,000 in eligible purchases made during the 30-day offer period.
Welcome cashback rate: 2%
Maximum eligible spending: $1,000
Maximum welcome cashback: $20 worth of XRP
Physical Card Welcome Cashback
Physical Card users earn 5% cashback on the first $1,000 in eligible purchases made during the 30-day offer period.
Welcome cashback rate: 5%
Maximum eligible spending: $1,000
Maximum welcome cashback: $50 worth of XRP
How the welcome rate is applied
The welcome rate is the total cashback rate applied to qualifying purchases. It is not added on top of the 1% cashback rate.
For example, a 5% welcome rate means that you earn 5% in total, not 6%.
What happens after the first $1,000?
Once you reach $1,000 in eligible Welcome Offer purchases, additional eligible purchases earn 1% cashback, subject to your card's monthly eligible spending limit.
Virtual Card monthly eligible spending limit: $2,000
Physical Card monthly eligible spending limit: $3,000
Purchases that receive the welcome rate count toward the applicable monthly eligible spending limit.
Calculation examples
These examples assume that the Welcome Offer spending and the card's full monthly eligible spending limit occur within the same calendar month.
Virtual Card example
If you make $2,000 in eligible purchases:
First $1,000 at 2% = $20 cashback
Remaining $1,000 at 1% = $10 cashback
Total cashback = $30 worth of XRP
Physical Card example
If you make $3,000 in eligible purchases:
First $1,000 at 5% = $50 cashback
Remaining $2,000 at 1% = $20 cashback
Total cashback = $70 worth of XRP
Purchases above the applicable monthly eligible spending limit do not earn additional cashback.
If the Welcome Cashback Offer ends mid-month
Your monthly eligible spending limit is not prorated based on the number of days remaining in the month.
When the 30-day offer period ends:
Purchases that already received the welcome rate continue to count toward that month's eligible spending limit.
The unused portion of the monthly eligible spending limit can continue to earn 1% cashback.
The remaining limit is not reduced based on the number of days left in the month.
For example, if a Physical Card user receives the welcome rate on $1,000 in purchases, the remaining $2,000 of that month's $3,000 eligible spending limit can earn 1% cashback.
How welcome cashback is paid
Welcome cashback follows the same monthly payout schedule as other Girin Card cashback and is paid in XRP.
Cashback from the previous calendar month's eligible purchases is scheduled to be paid on the 15th of the following month at 10:00 KST.
